Hi all! Sorry it's been kind of quiet around here for a few weeks since the season finished. We're still in a bit of a limbo, because F&B hasn't apparently been truly cancelled, but it hasn't been renewed yet either.

TNT did email me the other day with a long list of shows they'd renewed and F&B very much wasn't on that, which was kind of gutting. But everything anyone is saying on the internet is suggesting it *should* still get renewed and they might just be arguing between production teams and the network or something? It had good ratings, and inside sources hinted that it would be okay, and . . . I'm clinging to tiny hopes to be honest.

In place of any actual news I thought I'd do us a round up of bits and pieces, in case anyone is still out there in lj land. Although really not that much has been happening:

First bit of news is that hope_calaris is departing as mod, lots of love and thanks to her for everything over the last year ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Okay, so although you lovely US people had to wait until last week for your Season 1 DVDs to be released (while we got ours back in November in the UK) your patience has apparently been rewarded with an extra feature that we didn't get - a gag reel! [envy]

jekesta has managed to find a vid on YouTube, but it's only one and a half minutes, and I'm damned sure that there must have been more than one and a half minutes of fuck-ups in Season 1! But here it is anyway:

So basically, this is a plea on behalf of those of us who don't want to buy a whole other set of DVDS - if anyone buys Season 1 on DVD and has the tech skills to do it, please, please could some wonderful person rip the gag reel and upload it for us? Please...? [puppy dog eyes]

Okay, so there has been precious little F&B activity in recent weeks. I can only assume that this is because they're gearing up for the promotional tour, which appears to start at the end of this week. I have my fingers crossed for all manner of shenanigans, plus the photographic evidence to back up said shenanigans. They're going to be in Las Vegas, for crying out loud - I'm pretty sure that has RPS written all over it! ;o)

It was Breckin's birthday on May 7th, and although there was no birthday tweet for him from MPG (dude, what's that all about?) there was a very nice picture posted by Seth Green:

I like to think that this was the first stage of him being gift wrapped for my birthday. I'm still waiting for that delivery, btw...

They've also released (most of) the episode titles for Season 2 - they're hiding under the cut for people who are avoiding spoilers in all their forms.

I am officially VERY excited by the title of episode 2.04 alone...!

Finally, because I had to have a wisdom tooth removed on Monday, which left me feeling very sorry for myself, I decided to have a little re-watch of some Season 1 (because nothing takes your mind off the gaping hole in your head like some epic bromance). This got me thinking about all the reasons why I love the show so much, which produced a list that looked a little something like this:

1) Breckin Meyer.
2) The way that Peter and Jared look at each other.
3) The fact that the Man Cave has a hot tub.
4) Breckin Meyer's smile.
5)The fact that all of Peter and Jared's arguments are about Janie and Jared's dad.
6) The epicness that is Malcolm McDowall.
7) Breckin Meyer.
8) The fabulous dialogue.

Yeah, there may have been codeine involved...! But taking the most sensible point in that list (number 8, in case anyone was wondering!) what are some of your favourite quotes from Season 1? The lines that make you laugh like a loon? The little throwaway lines that can be spun into fic? I've chucked in a few of my favourites to get the ball rolling...

Ingredients:
~ 30ml Disaronno Amaretto
~ 15ml Chambord
~ 15ml Mozart Gold Chocolate
~ 60ml cream
~ chocolate syrup

Instructions:
Shake all of the ingredients together, then strain into a brandy balloon topped off with garnishes of chocolate wafer and flake shavings.

I don't know if you can get Wagon Wheels in the US, but here in the UK, they're a round biscuit topped with marshmallow and covered with chocolate. I'm not keen on them myself as I don't like marshmallow, but apparently people complain a lot that the biscuits have got smaller over the years. But that's the British for you, we could complain about anything, even biscuits!

Anyway, on to less biscuity things... Well, apparently Mark-Paul is as keen to see a naked Breckin as the rest of us. Make of that what you will:

Finally, in an attempt to kick-start those creative juices, I had a fun meme come up on my flist the other day, involving loads of questions about 'firsts', and it got me thinking - If the Infeld & Daniels team had a go at answering these questions, what would they say? It's Wednesday... It's [insert your local time here] o'clock... It must be time for a drink - break out the parasols and the novelty cocktail stirrers!

Ingredients:
~ 1 oz white rum
~ 1 oz gold rum
~ 1 oz dark rum
~ 1 tsp 151 Rum
~ ½ oz apricot brandy
~ 2 oz orange juice
~ 1 oz pineapple juice
~ 1 oz lime juice
~ 1 tsp sugar

Instructions:
In a blender, combine all the ingredients (except the 151 Rum) with crushed ice. Blend at a high speed until smooth and pour into a Collins glass. Float the 151 Rum on the top and garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry.

After that much deserved drink, I hope you're all having a splendid week. It's just under 11 weeks to go until June 5th - the all important, much anticipated and finally announced air date for Season 2, so it's starting to look more like a light at the end of the tunnel, rather than a mirage of F&B goodness that we'll never ever reach! [does the dance of joy]

I hope everyone's seen the latest sneaky peek from Season 2, in the form of a message to us F&B fans from the cast (and yes, I do like to think that they're speaking directly to this community!) If you haven't yet seen it in all its glory, go HERE and prepare to flail at mentions of Breckin's not-quite-nekkidness and the idea of Peter and Jared getting even closer!

I did plan to have things to say. Constructive things. With activities and everything. Instead, I have a sore throat, hacking cough and head full of cotton wool, so the things will have to wait until next time... Hello! I'm here instead of Hope, and we're a bit late, but never mind. I quite like when I get to pick cocktails outside the W restrictions.

We have another interview about season 2, Mark-Paul and Breckin, and then Malcolm McDowell at the end. With spoilers obv:

They seem a bit strange in these recent interviews to me, kind of quiet and a bit . . . they're probably just really tired from constant filming. (But in my head I'm editing it into them having a slight lack of love because mpg has decided to marry SOMEONE ELSE. But that's just me, don't judge.) Anyway, the stuff about Janie isn't top of my wishlist for season 2, but we'll see how that goes I guess. And all those other things as well. Maybe EVERYTHING is fine.

Breckin and MPG are going to host the College Television Awards, but they're seemingly not going to be televised, so it's no help to anyone, unless you're in hollywood at the end of March. Link here.

And TNT are promising to announce an actual première date soon.

The FranklinBash facebook page actually had a nice question this week, asking who you would like to see F&B defending in court. Most of the suggestions have been rl people, but my first thoughts were basically every fictional criminal I have ever known. They could do an entire season that was just crossover after crossover. I want them to defend Richard Chamberlain, playing his character from Leverage, or his musketeer actually. And Stephanie Beacham playing whoever the hell she likes. And Michael Scofield from Prison Break. AND EVERYONE ELSE I LOVE. How about you?

I've seen everyone's comments about the fest due date/time. Theoretically you have until the end of today, YOUR today, wherever you're located, but realistically, just whenever you can finish your fic is fine.

Later today I'll be making a post directing everyone on what to do with their fic, whether it be post as a new community entry, or as a comment or as a link to your own personal journal. So for those of you who are finished, you can begin posting when that is posted.

Please don't feel discouraged if your fic is not complete, unbeta'd, or you think it sucks so badly no other human should ever read it. This is a pretty laid back community and we'll survive even if it is late, and I highly doubt it can suck that badly.

Please message me if you just CANNOT write 100 words about your chosen prompt, message me if you've survived a New Years Zombie attack and cannot possibly be expected to write it after that, or just message me if you just can't do it for reason you'd rather not mention. I'm pretty sure I can take care of it for you.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz whiskey

Preparation:

Pour the bourbon, lemon juice, and sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
Shake well.

So now that we have the alcohol out of the way (I sadly don't have whiskey, but I'll drink hot cacao with crème de menthe later), on to the free for all post!

We're done with our weekly rewatch of the show, which is depressing and we spent a lot of time bemoaning the fact that they only made ten episodes on Sunday. We still will have a weekly rewatch, though, we just didn't agree on what we want to see yet. Suggestions? Ideas? Tell us.

But now that we all have refreshed our memory on what happens in season one, what are your whishes for season two? Personally, I hope for more hugs, more daddy!issues, more naked!everyone and if Ellen and Jared could get it on in some closet or so I'd be a happy camper. Just saying.

Infeld offers them the use of a log cabin he has up in the hills, so they can see the snow that so rarely falls in LA. They make their own Christmas up there in the solitude and snow, and realise they don't need anyone but each other. Can be slash or bromance! Any rating. [THIS PROMPT HAS BEEN CLAIMED]

I've been going through the tags, trying to tidy them up a little bit. We had some pairings replicating each other, and we had a fanfiction tag as well as a fic tag, that sort of thing.

I've taken away the option for people to create their own tags now; you can only add the ones we already have. So if you make a post and can't find an appropriate tag, just comment at the end of the post, or give me a shout, and I'll add one in for you.

Fic should be tagged with fanfiction, a pairing (if appropriate) and a rating. We also have a kink meme tag if it's a fill for a prompt.

I've added in a few tags for type of fic (eg. h/c, au, first time, fluff, bed sharing) under type: x. I will totally add more of those if you tell me what we need.

Hey guys! A few of us were discussing holiday fic exchanges and fests that take place during the holiday season, and one of the issues most people had were deadlines and the length requirements. To solve this problem we propose a drabble fest, in which the word count can be a minimum of 100 words.

Just to get some idea of who's interested, please answer this pole.

This is the last post for today from me, I swear.

We have a new layout and a new header! As suggested by some of you, we changed the width of the journal and the colors (among other things). Hopefully, everything will be easier to read and navigate now. (I'm not happy with the color for the comment function, but for the life of me I can't seem to find the place for the html in the css code to change it. Sorry 'bout that.)

If you have any comments, complaints, suggestions about the new layout and/or the header, this is the place to put it. (Like, if the ad placement is wonky I wouldn't know because I have paid account and therefore don't see ads.)
