I seriously loved this episode way too much. In fact, I love this season way too much and if it doesn't get renewed in a couple weeks, I will personally fly us all to TNT HQ to protest.

- I don't think I ever enjoyed a pre-title sequence so much. Their commentating was hilarious, especially Jared's about how blue the pitcher's eyes were (Peter only complained because he was jealous). Then Jared laughing at Peter's bat-holding skills. And then Peter reeling Jared into the elevator and then tackling him which was the most adorable thing ever, even if we only saw half of it as the doors closed.

- Since when was Peter a baseball player? Back in 1x05 he seemed completely clueless about it but now it was a lost dream? Their history continues to befuddle.

- Jared continuing to be an awesome boyfriend by placating Peter when the heckler was insulting him.

- Their heckling was excellent. Oh, and Carmen's back! But not Pindar. AGAIN. The look she gave to Jared's reaction when Charlie called was totally "Jealous, much?"

- Jared again being an awesome and supportive boyfriend by giving Peter relationship advice. He just wants him to be happy.

- "What happens in the locker room, stays in the locker room." Really? And then we don't get a locker room scene? I mean, really?

- Peter is apparently a needy boyfriend, calling Charlie every ten minutes. But I think most of us suspected this about him already. I like that they're at least trying to make a likeable and fleshed out love interest. Jury's still out on how I feel about her and her with Peter though.

- Loved Damien finally standing up for himself because I was really starting to hate that judge guy. But now he's going to be framed for his murder :( I have faith that F&B will work their lawyer magic to get him off though. That came out wrong...

- Finally, Jared arranging for Peter to have a batting session with Randy Johnson. Did you say 'best boyfriend EVER'? Because he might just be. Seriously, nobody makes Peter smile like Jared does. Sorry, Charlie. Also, the height difference between Jared and Randy, and Jared calling himself Mini Unit? Too freakin' cute!

I hate their past with a firey passion. Peter played football in HS, didn't he? (maybe they couldn't make 'football heckling' into a problem?) And baseball was more of Jared's thing. (but I also kind of like the idea that Peter played all the sports because in HS he got seriously into fitness and Jared wasn't really on any teams because he was tiny and also so that he could go and hang around Peter's practices because if he didn't (and was at practive of his own) then he'd never see Peter during sport seasons)

I'm sort of over Charlie at this point. I mean, I want her to be happy and have an awesome new job, but I'm done with her and Peter.

God, Damien standing up for himself was the best thing ever. (along with him not being good at golf and having better hair... everything about Damien is wonderful)

About the pre-titles sequence, I forgot to add how much I loved Jared leaning over the fence to try and grab the ball and the way Peter held hm back. He does it so quickly I think MPG may have been genuinely worried that Breckin was going to fall over. Which is incredibly sweet.

On a somewhat related note, I want a hug this season. We had two in S1 and none last season. It's time for more hugging. But I'd settle for cuddling on the couch.

It sometimes frustrates me how little they have things like hugs or any kind of PDA (the lack of kisses frustrates me the most :p) Plenty of other shows have way more tactile bromances, for example Hawaii Five-0, which I've just started watching and would definitely recommend to anybody since I was genuinely surprised how much I enjoyed it, and the guys on their kind of remind me of Peter and Jared in looks and in their relationship and I really want either a cross-over fic or an AU where Peter and Jared are badass cops instead of badass lawyers and now back to the actual point...

Steve and Danny have only known each other a few months and didn't even get on that well to begin with, and they've had more hugs and just touching than Peter and Jared have had in the three-ish years out of twenty-five-ish that we've been watching them. It's really not fair.

I love that he was the color commentator. I love that the girl gave Peter the ball, although his teasing him about getting the ball didn't sound like Peter's voice to me, and also it would have ALL BEEN BETTER if like Peter was doing nonsense commentary anyway because he didn't know anything that was happening, and Jared was letting him because he adores him, and then he was all happy that he got the ball even though it was MEANINGLESS TO HIM BECAUSE HE HAS NEVER SEEN BASEBALL EVER IN HIS LIFE BECAUSE. Uh, yeah, I have some issues with their backstory too.

The baseball/Peter thing really annoyed me and nearly spoiled this episode for me. It's such a stupid lack of continuity and they could surely have made it be about Jared, and I know we see Jared fanboying a lot but i don't care.

I'm absolutely and irrevocably in love with Jared Franklin (after the opening sequence.

I know. I don't understand what on earth they thought her character was going to bring to the show. I would have understood it if she had twin two year olds and Peter and Jared were going to hold them, then she would have been bringing HAPPINESS AND SUNSHINE, but as it is they've got a show with too many REGULAR cast members to be in it every week and instead of showing us Pindar's increasing love and romance with Rob Lowe we just see Peter in a nothingy kind of relationship with someone we don't know, her daughter hasn't even been a big part of it, if she's there just to BREAK MY HEART by having them decide to live apart at the end of the season then sldhfoiwejfsldkfj. If they wanted a long running girlfriend thing, USE ELLEN, WE ALL LOVE ELLEN AND SHE HAS A PLACE IN THEIR STORIES AND SHE MAKES JARED DO THINGS.

Can we please bring back what the psychic said about seeing jail in Damien's future? Because I'm kinda freaking out about it. There is no way that he could have killed that guy. Damien's all bark and no bite...right? Ignoring the fact that he tried to get the boys fired, but that's not a violent act. The only violent thing I've seen him do is destroy Pindar's laptop and kill a bee. He had just made peace with old judge dude, so...

I'm just really nervous about this and have a lot of Damien feels.

It would be a bold move to have Franklin and Bash lose the case, put Damien in prison and have them win on appeal.

My first thought was "oh, c'mon, Damien's swing isn't that bad that he brained the judge by accident," then I saw that they weren't really positioned for anything like that.

The shipper in me is adamant that Hanna would come back if Damien was on trial for murder and DEFEND THE HELL out of him and never lose. But I know they won't do that, but SHE SO WOULD.

My pet idea now is that Rachel or maybe Rachel and Stanton lose the case. Colleen (Peter's mom) doesn't give up and discovers another angle and Peter and Jared win the appeal.

I assume they're going to play where the last actual interaction any one saw with them was Damien flipping his shit at the judge. Which is terrible for Damien. And Stanton is probably going to have a rough time bing like 'well, Damien would never so anything, but, yes, I did see him threaten the judge...'. Awkward.

Maybe Damien will be okay in prison because Infeld will have a word and they all loved Infeld when he was on trial for murder. And yeah, I don't think the show is going for him actually having done it, but Infeld believing he had so quickly was sort of painful.

Peter is REALLY DIFFICULT. But Jared loves him insanely anyway, which is cute. And maybe he suggested the whole suing her because he knows it's a TERRIBLE move and was expecting it to properly end everything and then Peter was all 'IT WORKED!!!!' and Jared was all 'oh'.

Peter reminded him that he wanted a wife and he just went 'oh yeah, I forgot about how you want to leave me, fine go, see if I care, have that one'.

It's alright though because Peter's back together with Charlie and Jared will seem fine but then Peter will find an airplane ticket to whichever city Bear is in the museum of, and realise that Jared is Not Okay and magically become the better boyfriend that I'm sure he can be, since Jared is the only person he EVER boyfriends well.

(I love the bit you wrote about Jared making Peter go on a ride with Bear SO MUCH, so I'm thinking about him a lot again today.)

I think part of Jared being supportive of Peter's heterosexuality is that he knows how terrible he is at it, so it's not really a threat to him. If Peter decides to move to San Francisco I think he's going to be suddenly a lot less supportive and a lot more threatened.

(And the whole idea of Pindy (and probably Carmen too) getting naturally more physical with Jared to make up for Peter being an idiot is just too cute to cope with, oh they're a brilliant family.)

Yeah, it's like how he'd get so defensive over anything to do with Janie. Jared doesn't see Charlie as any real threat, so he'll let it ride for now.

I have a terrible head canon where Jared didn't actually want to be a lawyer, but Peter did (because Peter saw how successful and important Leonard was, as opposed to his drywalling, family ditching father) and Peter wanted to go to college and then law school, so Jared followed. And Peter wanted to try and be a big corporate lawyer, and Jared didn't because that's too like Leonard for him, but then Peter got fired and went back to Jared and Jared had to make up a whole little law business for them so that Peter could be a lawyer. And sure it's great because he gets to be with Peter, but Peter keeps trying to leave (he's not good at it, but he keeps trying) and Peter doesn't really get what Jared did for him, because of him, and it just makes me really sad whenever Jared says things alluding to how great their life is. It's like he's begging Peter not to leave him. Tragic.

That just broke my heart :( Mainly because it could easily be canon. When he asked Peter whether he'd give up everything he had now to be a pro baseball player, I so wanted Peter to say "Absolutely. I mean, you'd still be there, right?" But then I remembered that Peter is a terrible boyfriend who thinks he'd be totally fine without Jared until it actually happens. Then he'd realise what a huge mistake he'd made and come crawling back, and part of me would want Jared to be all "Too late, dude. You had your chance." But we all know he wouldn't be able to resist Peter's moping forever, which is what got him in this situation in the first place.
