I really really like the female characters in Franklin and Bash but I still don't believe they have the ability to write either of them into a relationship without making it rubbish and awful.

This. Somehow them managed to make the female characters pretty much not props for the men... just keep going in that direction writers!

It's bizarre how good they are at female characters, I do just keep my fingers crossed that it wasn't just a fluke thing that's going to go out of the window next year. If they ruin Hanna I'll cry. Or Ellen. Or Carmen. And I do hope we get Ellen for a few more episodes next season because I love her SO MUCH it isn't entirely containable.
