I hope this isn't the end of their wacky ways of running a law firm. Because they don't need to be creatively stifled anymore. They're totally up by 8%! It's working for them. I loved how happy that first lawyer that caught the ball was. I wanna see her more.

Stanton's storyline was kinda... meh. And the Mike Tyson thing fell flat for me. Like it was overall pointless. But, omg, Jared's impression (which I kind of assume is Breckin's) was so adorable. Him and Peter being excited was adorable. Jared punching Mike Tyson and looking really small was adorable.

Breckin had some really wonderful faces this episode. Like his face when he realized he gave Swatello the go head to try and sleep with that guy. Really anytime he was in Swatello's office. Or when Peter said that Jared couldn't hold his liquor. Or when Peter said in court that Jared almost screwed over the law firm. So many good faces.

I'm glad that they've decided that Jared can't hold his liquor well. I mean, I know that Peter apparently puked too, but it seemed like more of a call back to Jared getting drunk in court and then horking it up in the elevator. It's just... really cute?

I'm torn over Jared and Swatello being together.
Like, I don't like how heavy handed it's brought up, like the writers really push their relationship when it's in an episode, really focus on it in a 'look at this relationship, they totally have a relationship, relationship relationship, they're into each other' kind of way and it's a bit much. (esp when it comes after an ep like last week)
But I also really love Swatello and every thing she is and that they have sex in the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum. And that a case with a dominatrix in it apparently says Swatello all over it. (cause you know she's kinky)

Jared's a super jealous little potato. Not just about Swatello either. We know he's jealous around Peter too (how he tries to draw Peter's attention away from the models this week and the wife getting divorced last week, and he was always jealous about Janie). He doesn't like to share. But he's also seemingly okay with himself maybe hooking up with (or at least flirting with) people other than Swatello or Peter.

Whereas Swatello is probably totally poly and also into casual sex. Nothing will convince me that she's not cool with going with a couple of people at once. And I also feel that she's not going to be into having any kind of exclusive relationship. (or a romantic relationship, because I see her as aromantic, but we all know how things are going to be forced to end up, so, whateves)

Swatello looking hot to get that guy. Peter appreciating it and also watching out for Jared kinda sorta.

The model assuming that they were a couple of gay guys and them not correcting her. Jekesta, I think you were wondering if they were touchy about being mistaken for a couple or if they played it up, and I don't think they were exactly mistaken for a couple here, just for gay, but I think this works as a 'they'll go with it if it benefits them' kind of answer.
It's a skeezy move not to tell her they're not totally gay because she probably wouldn't be into asking for their help outfit wise, but <3 about the rock paper scissors to decide thing.


No Anita. I guess we can only have one lady at a time? But Swatello does mention her, so I guess they've met and probably have fallen in love and are just playing it cool about it or whatever.

Dan's back. I like him. Even if he is creepily living with Peter and Jared without them knowing. (but I'm sad that a) they've either given away Carmen's or Pindar's old room and b) they're might not be rooming together anymore? :( sad.)

No Damien, even though he is mentioned. And failing at life per usual. He can only screw up so many times before that big, fancy law firm he's at kicks him to the curb.

Peter called Jared adorable because Swatello wouldn't. Jared called Peter adorable back.

(other super cute things they did this ep... arguing over Peter being scared of fish with heads on, bumping each other after catching the football, and having a gun fight in front of Swatello)

They took Stanton to the diner! <3! And they got him a caricature and put it up. Aww.

I kind of love that Dan just moved in without asking. I love how much he scares Peter and Jared, but they just go with it all the time. I sort of want fic where it stops being cute and becomes PROPERLY TERRIFYING and then it all goes a bit horror film and they end up hiding in a wardrobe terrified that he's killed someone in the hot tub.

I love how Stanton totally loves them, but then when they're themselves in HIS law firm he tends to get a bit 'ugh' about them, even though they're amazing and made an instagram account which will probably save the business.

Yes. His face. I agree with you mostly on everything about Jared/Ellen and Ellen's whole sexuality stuff. It's a shame they've gone with the romcom falling in love despite herself for Ellen. I think she'd be way happier if he married Peter and she just came round for kinky sex sometimes and then maybe accidentally she gets pregnant because that would be beautiful and Peter would be near a pregnant lady and they could all raise the BEST BABY IN THE WORLD and suddenly the beach house would be like a constant kid's party instead of a constant adult one, like all the parents would know they could just come and hang out there whenever they wanted, and there would be a giant ball pit where the hot tub used to be, and juice in the fridge where the beer used to be.

And then it turns out that he actually didn't kill anyone, but everything he's done and said made it sound like the most plausible situation. And then Dan's like 'you guys are too weird for me' and leaves.

Stanton's got a bad case of 'professional lawyers do things the professional way and it's the only way to be professional' (which just makes him sound like Damien), while totally ignoring that Peter and Jared are doing a fantastic job in the face of everyone being blah about them. Sad.

That is clearly the only solution to this. She totally wants Jared to be focused on someone else so that she can just pop round for kinky sex, such a perfect solution. And Peter could be a bit sad that this would mean that Jared would go off with her and Jared would have to explain that this would be much more like a '3 Men and a Baby' situation, but with only two men and then it'd be okay and Peter would be super sweet to Ellen and very considerate of her (which Jared kind of fails at) and YES! omg, the kid's parties and parents all hanging out and everything it's so perfect. (because, like, even if Jared really hooks up with Ellen it's not like he'd be leaving Peter anyway...)

Is this season about making Jared jealous? Last week with Peter hitting on that lady (even after he kiss him, c'mon, Peter, that's tacky, you're not tacky, dude!) and this week with Ellen and the hunky masseuse...

Yes, and maybe Peter momentarily freaks out when they found out about the pregnancy and thinks Jared is gonna leave him to play house with Ellen, or maybe he gets really stupid and thinks he should 'step out' for the sake of the baby, which Jared tells him is ridiculous because who better to raise a child with them that Peter, who else could write dumb lullabies but him!

I love that they decided something using 'Rock Paper Scissors', because in fic that's how they decide most things. I swear to god, they are reading our shit... ;o)

Hm. This episode was a bit flat for me, like yeah I don't mind that the cases are a bit nothingy this year but nothing seemed to happen outside that. And they got someone off for being attracted to a lady. I know he wasn't guilty and didn't do anything wrong, but all the deep breathing and the whole she was so hot that men can't be to blame for themselves blah. (Although Peter really really judging Jared in court for liking a WOMAN was kind of awesome.)

I would have been way more forgiving if it wasn't the mike tyson episode, I hate mike tyson, I hate that they had him on their show and were all fanboy-ey over him, and I'm just going to ignore that as best I can.

Also Dan was kind of skeevy this episode, I love his weirdness but this episode it was nearly all directed at being creepy to women? Sort of.

I guess whatever episode followed last week was going to struggle to win my heart. And obviously there were still MANY THINGS I LOVED, such as MPG being the most beautiful attractive thing in the universe ever still oh my god. BUT WHAT IS WITH THEM SUDDENLY HAVING ROOMS AGAIN. Stanton said he had to stay for a while. I demand they keep sharing rooms. Unless the reason they've let Dan move in was because they've realised they only need the one room now because room sharing is awesome. And like they've been really convincing themselves that it's a favour to Dan, it's only the right thing to do, he needs somewhere to live even if it means they have to keep sharing a bed, fine.

I love Swatello. I love her in every direction at once. I love the way Peter talks to people Jared loves. I love the way Peter talks to anyone and everyone. He's scared of fish.

I love that they were shooting at the nipple painting. I love Jared's face telling stanton that buffalo wings are chicken, even though it is followed by the single worst continuity shot ever. I love them telling each other they're adorable and the casual shooting was SO ADORABLE. Their board meeting was amazing, and they have so many more women since all their top partners left which is nice.

This is one of those episodes where they really want to think that they're a dudebro show and these types of episodes never really work out.

They think the show is one thing, it's actually another thing, and it could be an even better thing. Like if the show actually realized what it was then they could really push the idea of a rag tag law firm full of people that no other law firm usually wants, which would mean lots of ladies and people who aren't white and different sexualities and lots of outside of the box thinking, and they just can't seem to admit that that's what their show should be. :P

Jared's face was lovely when that happened. I do like how Peter's judginess is (beyond that it's Jared and a woman) about how kind of unprofessional it is for Jared to be going after Ellen when they work together, like he helps Ellen out with the time for her sexual harassment log and tsks about how Jared almost screwed over the firm and I wonder if it's because he remembers getting fired for banging the daughter of the partner of the first law firm that he was at and is like 'dude, we've been through this before, only bad things come from work dalliances' or something.

OMG, that was totally my main take on that entire scene - Peter understanding people getting knocked on their ass by love, but judging Jared acting like a doofus over a woman instead of him. Like Jared doesn't spend the rest of his life letting Peter make him do stupid shit!

I'm choosing to ignore the whole Mike Tyson thing. It left a not very nice taste in my mouth.

I wanted them to wake up together and then they didn't so I was sad faced, but they made up for it by having Jared have the best faces ever.

I love Swatello. Like, a LOT.

I think they're trying to work out how Dan's supposed to be and mostly getting it right until they get it wrong and then it makes me pull a face :/

I love that we got the diner again. I missed the diner when we didn't have it.

I loved that they mentioned Damien and Pindy. I miss Carmen, I'd like a bit more resolution with her, but I know we're not going to get it ( Hanna anyone?)

I will find lots more to love about it once I've watched it again and made dolphin noises over the phone with Vic later...

And the total lack of caring to explain about Carmen at all was so sad, especially when they said 'we give all our investigators nicknames' and I thought they were totally going to talk about her and call her names (BUT LOVINGLY).

Okay, so NOTHING was going to live up to the squeee level generated by last week's episode, but it wasn't terrible, just a bit disjointed, like they had a handful of leftover plot parts and just threw them together to make an episode. But here are the parts I loved:

I loved Rock Paper Scissors, because this it totally fanon Peter and Jared.

I loved bad-ass Stanton laying the restaurant owner out and I loved them taking him to the Diner at the end. I didn't love the Mike Tyson part particularly, but I did love the fanboy reactions and Breckin's impression, which must have been terrifying to do!

I loved Swatello and the fact that Jared's jealousy just gave us some of the best faces ever. Seriously, I have never wanted to pet someone as much as I want to pet that man.

I loved Peter's closing speech and the scorn reserved purely for Jared for getting all stupid OVER A WOMAN! He was judging him so hard.

I loved that Dan moved in with them 2 weeks ago and they didn't even know. I also love that he slightly creeps them out but will probably remain the least threatening person on the show.

Let's face it, they could do an entire episode where nothing happens at all, and I'd still love it!

I wonder if Breckin's been doing a Tyson impersonation around set and someone in casting found out and was then like 'hey, guess who I booked to guest on the show'. Because it seemed so much more like a not!Jared kind of thing? The whole Tyson thing seemed very not F&B ish... didn't really have the same flavor of the Rob Lowe stuff.

The best faces, yes. I totally get the wanting to pet him thing. Like if I could just hold his cheeks and maybe stroke his hair a little... yeah.
