Title: The One With The Epic Rain kiss

Summary: Jared and Peter argue about the importance of a kiss in the rain.

Notes: Established relationship, title inspired from the TV show "Friends." Mentions of The Notebook.

“I’m just saying, every epic couple has to have a rain kiss.” Jared said casually and pointed at the TV screen. “If they don’t have a rain kiss, they’re not epic.”

Peter scoffed “I can’t believe you think that, that’s ridicu….”

That’s when Carmen decided to interrupt the ongoing discussion.

 “You know what I can’t believe? That you guys are watching The Notebook, again!”

Peter hit the pause button before both of them turned around and glared angrily at her.

“It’s a classic love story with a great director.” Peter commented.

Jared nodded “Plus it’s the only movie that makes Peter cry, which is kind of awesome.”

Carmen crossed her arms and smirked at him “So you can take advantage of him afterwards?”

“Exactly.” He answered with a grin.

Peter threw a pillow at his face and Carmen laughed as Pindar entered the living room. “What’s going on?” He asked.

“We’re just discussing the boys’ addiction to The Notebook and how they’re constantly doing it like bunnies.” She answered, and this time she was the one who was awarded with a pillow thrown at her.

“Oh please, I’d just gotten the image of you two on the pool table out of my head.” Pindar said and groaned disgustingly.

“Hey, you weren’t supposed to be home!” Jared said and pointed accusingly at his friends.

“Don’t be mad at me, I thought it was hot.” Carmen said and ruffled Peter’s hair.  “Anyway, I have to go, Hanna needs some investigating on a potential client.”

“You know you work for us right?” Jared asked and Carmen glared angrily at him. “Never mind, you go ahead and have fun…. Do you need some money?”

“Smooth, Jare.” Peter said.

“If you guys are gonna be without supervision from Carmen, I think I’ll just go to my room.” Pindar said and discreetly exited the living room.

“That’s quite a reputation we’ve got.” Peter said and wiggled his eyebrows.

Jared grinned “Shut up and watch the movie.” He said and turned his attention back to the screen and Peter hit the play button on the remote.

“I wrote you every day for a year.”

“I love this movie.” Peter said.

“I know you do, Petey pie” Jared replied with a cheeky grin and kissed Peter’s cheek with a big smack.

“I hate you.”

“I know you do.” Jared said “But it’s a great scene though, really epic with the rain and all.”

“That’s such bullshit, what about Titanic?”

“Never really cared for that movie.” Jared said “I thought it was kind of bitchy of Rose to complain about how she was cold when she was laying on that wooden thing while Jack was in the icy water.”

Peter sighed “You know, I used to think you were a little more romantic.”

“Hey, I can be romantic!”  Jared said “I cooked you dinner last night.”

“You ordered pizza.”

Jared thought long and hard, Peter was starting to think he might hurt himself.

“Am I a sucky boyfriend?” Jared asked, leaning over Peter who now had his head in Jared’s lap.

Peter smiled up at him “You’re an awesome boyfriend, but-“ He stopped there and focused his attention to the screen. “The rain scenes are pretty epic.”

“That’s what I’m saying! The Notebook, Spiderman, Breakfast at Tiffany’s…”

Peter raised his eyebrows “Breakfast at Tiffany’s?” he asked “Really, Jare?”

“Now that’s a classic!” Jared pointed out and started playing with Peter’s hair.

“Maybe you’re right about the whole kissing in the rain shit.”

“I know I am.” Jared answered with a victorious grin.

“All though…”

“What?”

“We’ve never kissed in the rain.” Peter said and looked up at Jared again “And we’re as epic as it can get.”

Jared started to think again.

“Just think about it Jare, two best friends growing up together and falling in love, never letting anything get in their way, even when the world can be so cruel.”

“You’re ridiculous.” Jared laughed. “The biggest obstacle we’ve ever faced as a couple was when we bumped into one of your exes when we visited your parents.”

Peter laughed “You were so jealous!”

“She was all over you!”

“Well, maybe that’s what’s so epic about us, that everything’s just so easy?” Peter said with a smile.

“Yeah” Jared agreed and leaned down to kiss his grinning boyfriend.

It was a long pause.

“We should still have a rain kiss, though.” Peter said.

“I know!”

They absolutely need a rain kiss! And any time you feel like writing about it would be just fine with me... [whistles]

This was so adorable. I love it when they're just together as a couple and everyone knows about it and is perfectly okay with it. Because you know that with them, things would just be that simple. And I also think that they totally watch chick flicks - I have no idea why, but in my head they absolutely do!

Thank you so much for giving us new F&B fic - I was starting to feel horribly deprived... ;o)

Oh, I'm so late here, but this is REALLY BEAUTIFUL. I love them I love them. I love Peter thinking they're a bit epic - THEY'RE SO EPIC.
