Dodos and Dragons

To follow on from these pictures of Jared with unicorns, and Bug's beautiful fic I have made a few Pindar with dodos, and Damien with dragons.

Date: 2011-10-29 01:12 am (UTC)Eeeeee! Pindar looks so scared and so put-upon and so "Why do I have to have dodos?! :( :( :(" And his dodos are all "O.o? Dodo? Dodo wanna peanut?"
And Damien! Eeeeeeeee! And he is smirking and his dragon is like, "Rawr! I'm dragon! I will TOAST you!" Ohmygosh, he needs to smirk more, like not smile, because I don't know what I would do with that, but more smirking... And HIS SHIRTS! Like, he doesn't need to take them off...that would either be wonderful or incredibly disappointing...but the jacket can stay off....and the forearms can stay where they are just chillin'...and possibly tickle a dragon or feed it a piece of bread or toast a marshmallow... or maybe he and the dragons just share cups of coffee...

"Mrawk!" said Artaxes pleasantly and blinked his large golden eyes. Artaxes was a deep royal blue and the same size and temperament of the fat Karp family cat Damien had loved growing up.
Damien scratched behind Artaxes's brow-ridge. "Shouldn't you be off lighting something on fire or stealing a poor unfortunate's gold, maybe?"
"Mrrrk," Artaxes chittered and crawled up to lay on Damien's collarbone, allowing better access to the dry parts of his back where his wings met his torso and his claws couldn't quite reach.
Damien chuckled and scratched the spot obligingly, "Or you could sprawl out here all day."
"Chchrrk," agreed Artaxes and nuzzled Damien's jawline happily.

Interesting to imagine how Artaxes might be explained to any ladies Damien invites into his bedroom (Hanna in the past and possibly the future). Hmmmmmm.

"Mrack!" chittered Artaxes and batted a lazy paw at a similarly sized sphinx. A sphinx (a Greek sphinx, Classics 201 reminded him) that was most definitely not Damien's and not there the night before.
The sphinx made crooning noise and dodged Artaxes' swipe. She raised up on her back and clapped her paws in a loose grip on either side of his neck, the motion tumbling her forward and half-way over Damien's feet.
"Chchchrrk!" Artaxes chattered happily. He leaned back and wrested out of her hold. He rolled off onto the otherside of Damien's feet and batted back at the sphinx.
The sphinx smiled predatorily with teeth and a teasingly growl and lunged at Artaxes, flinging her whole body weight against him and knocking them both off the bed with a low thump.
Damien winced sympathetically.
"Her name is Esmerelda," said Hanna over the sounds of playful scuffle and mocking chittering resuming. She released a long breath through her nose and wriggled back into a more comfortable position against Damien's chest.
"Ah," said Damien, stroking her hair automatically. "Artaxes."

There was a chorus of angry hissing from the dresser and a series of snarls from top of the closet door that begged to disagree.
Hanna stifled a laugh. From her position, she could see Artaxes, Lexandro, Ghidrell, and three others who's name she didn't know.
She leaned over and kissed Damien on the forehead. "I think they're jealous."
"As they should be," muttered Damien sleepily.
Hanna stroked Damien's hair away from his forehead and kissed him again. "I'm not. I don't mind sharing the affection."
Damien opened a single eye curiously, "Oh really, now?"
The bed dipped suddenly with a sharp squeak. Artaxes gave Hanna an impudent look and scuttled across the comforter and into the small space between her and Damien. He thrust his head under Damien's hand so that his snout peeked out through Damien's fingers. Automatically, Damien scratched him.
Hanna shook her head. "Boys," she said teasingly.
From her place on the nightstand, Esmerelda rolled her eyes in agreement.

Do you think canon are ever going to let us see Hanna and Damien kiss? I am remarkably interested in seeing them kiss. Even if it has to be without accompanying mystical beasts.

Like, Damien has a lousy day and kinda snaps (best friend dies/turns out to be scumbag; family is in town) or Hanna has a lousy day (family or overworked or whatever) and Damien saves the day and is thus appropriately rewarded while the audience dies from squeeing.... I doubt we'll get a sex scene or anything, but I could see either a friendship kiss or a friendship kiss with strong amounts of longing or a more-than-friendship-kiss and fade to black.
Also, I really, really want to know when they were together before and how long it lasted and why they broke up and adfdlfkdlafkdl!!!!!!!!!

Date: 2011-10-29 01:53 pm (UTC)I sort of feel like F&B could get them together and not ruin them, as well. Which I don't think is true of much tv. I just want them to sort of accidentally kiss without thinking about it, and then just smile an awful lot.
I'd love to know how long they'd been going out, yes. And if they really did break up just because they were working together. Except they must have been going out while they were working together, because they've not been broken up that long. Maybe Damien did get nervous about them being found out, and was all ambitious about becoming a judge and just made the MASSIVEST MISTAKE OF HIS LIFE and decided to break up with her. OH MY GOD DAMIEN.

Date: 2011-10-29 03:11 pm (UTC)I think in like the first episode, Damien says something like, "Hanna's trying to rekindle something that happened while we were at different firms" or something like that and then in the episode with the kid, Damien says something like, "You know having a kid would never make it work here, right?" which is clearly a lie also, i think shows that they never dated while working at Infeld-Daniels together. I think Damien is a semi-recent recruitment too, bc he was trying to avoid nepotism, so he stayed away from the family firm and then he got the call from the Mama-Creature....
So! I feel like Damien and Hanna dated while at separate firms, broke up because ??? and then they were together in the same place again and Hanna was like, "OHHAI! I missed you!" and Damien was like, "Must...not...compromise...standards...for....love of life..." only bc he's Damien, it didn't quite come out like that....
Also, I too want accidental kissing and I would not entirely be horrified by accidental baby.... They could have a relationship that consists of long looks and kisses on the hand/cheek and I think I might be okay!
Also, this is a really long comment... I have lots of thoughts on them....

I just felt like they only broke up recently, and that they had both been settled at the firm for longer. But Damien being new makes more sense of Hanna still being cross with him for having a massive office and being treated like brilliance when he's not as good as her. She'd have sorted that out if he'd been there for longer probably. And I'm sure he says in the pilot that they only broke up because he doesn't approve of dating colleagues - or I suppose because he thought Infeld had a rule against it. (I like that Infeld takes that rule away because he's hired Franklin and Bash so it no longer makes sense.)
In the kid episode, he doesn't say a kid wouldn't work! Does he? If he does that's awful. He says having a kid would never make her ordinary. Which is just love. I LOVE THEM BOTH SO MUCH. Maybe they will make babies.
"You said you wanted to get back together and then you slept with THAT ONE?!"
Yes!:):):) OH. I love that she picks Jared, and I know he's lovely, but it's just such a calculated move to piss Damien off. While also, y'know, getting to sleep with Jared:):):):):)

I really, really like the idea of Damien having his own personal, somewhat "Victorian" set of rules for dating. (Ex: no sex on the first date, no dating in the workplace, no letting the woman pay for the first X amount of dates, etc) It seems like such a classy thing for him to do. Whereas Hanna is like, "Are you kidding me? Hello, 21st century! Feminism, whoo-hoo!" And Damien's all, "I know, just roll with it. I think you're beautiful. Have a rose." And Hanna's also, "Holy crap, you're serious... I feel strangely charmed..."

Hanna's pregnant at the moment in NYPD blue and it's making me crazily happy, even though obviously it's not really Hanna and I just have to imagine Damien instead of Baldwin. (Sometimes Mark-Paul Gosselaar talks to her, and I'm shipping them a little bit purely in the belief that it's some alternate universe to Franklin and Bash and they're the only two who have found each other, so they should get married.)

Stop it! That's a dangerous, dangerous fic idea....which sadly cannot be summed up in a couple hundred word fic... Because it would be all angsty and filled with confusion and "why are we here?" and "where are all our friends?" and Hanna is clearly missing Damien and Peter is missing Jared and then they find each other and they realize they maybe are not crazy and thus marriage!

And it would be really awkward, because Hanna is having Baldwin's baby and she would have to sort of try to explain to him, and that's impossible to explain, and she wouldn't even know what she meant, just 'I feel like I should be near him'.
