hi everyone! :)

I am new to the community and this is my first post EVER on LJ. I was on this community  few days ago and noticed that someone had asked for a Franklin & Bash video, and i just finished my first one today :-)

The song is This is our town by Kings of Leon and the vid was edited in Sony Vegas 7.

If you use windows you're likely to have Windows Movie Maker already installed, and although it's not ideal for making songvids it's quite a good starting point because it's quite straight forward and quick. (If you're not using windows I don't know anything, sorry.)

You will need to download the episodes though, if you haven't already. They'll be an .avi file, and movie maker should be okay with that.

I'm sure if you google there are guides to starting out with movie maker, or you can just open it up and like I say it's quite easy to follow. You literally just look for the bits of episodes you want, it clips them for you, and you drag them onto the timeline, and then suddenly you have people moving to music. It's great when it works.

Hurray!:) Feel free to ask if you have any problems, it's been a while since I've used windows movie maker, but I'll help if I can.

(Personally I've been struggling with vidding for this fandom because I can't find a love song quite TRUE ENOUGH for how much they love each other. Most of my music is a bit angsty and rubbish and I just need something that is PURE LOVE.)

Oh my gosh, do you wanna brainstorm songs sometime? I have a whole slew of "cheesy/true/almost anything" love songs that I've collected from various fandoms/my own wandering around the music store!

I'm a bit rubbish to talk about music to because I (a) don't know who anyone is, (b) don't know the title of any band, song or album (names don't stick in my head), and (c) don't like a lot of music. I'm kind of useless:):)

Having said that, if you do have any suggestions I can go and look things up and stuff, prepare for a ramble about my difficulty in picking a song: I want something quite quick and happy, and a love song, but one which isn't going to involve a lot of 'plot' if you know what I mean? I don't really want to tell a story, I just want to make one of those vids that is lots of happy clips set to happy music, but with a general theme of OH MY GOD PETER AND JARED LOVE EACH OTHER MORE THAN ANY TWO PEOPLE EVER HAVE BEFORE. A lot of the songs I've thought of are about people falling in love I want one that's more 'WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN IN LOVE I LOVE YOU AND YOU MAKE ME HAPPY'. Also I want one that isn't too long, that's the real killer. Somewhere under or just about three minutes is really my sort of limit.

But really really don't feel bad if you can't think of anything, or can't be bothered. I'll work something out eventually I think.

Oh, you're terrific! Thank you, I will go and search for them and try them out as soon as I get a chance.

(One of the real things that happens when you start vidding is that you start hating EVERYONE for writing such long songs. I am sure they could say all they needed to in 2.30 minutes if they just TRIED.)

Hi, I only just saw this, must have missed it on my flist. Welcome to LJ:) I love you for the bringing of songvids, they're what we've been missing most. I actually tried to make one a bit back, but my computer ate it and I haven't been able to bear the thought of reclipping everything.
