405 - Deep Throat
Jared had some good faces this week. A couple of winks too.
And we got to learn some more about their high school days.

And since we got Swatello this week we didn't get Anita, though we did see some other lady lawyers who work at I,D,F&B.
We also got some more creepy Dan. Who's extra helpful when it comes to Jared. Even though Jared doesn't want the help. Just saying... maybe Peter shouldn't be the one locking his door at night.
The former lawyer cello lady sub letter was amazing. I want lots more of her.
The case this week was nice. I mean, it was just kinda there, but it did mean that we got talk about Jared and Peter in high school. Which I have lots of feelings about. And they're all angsty and tragic. Because they went to different high schools. (yay continuity!) And Jared got picked on by band kids. And forwent his prom in order to stick corn in his principal's gas tank. (I'm gonna assume that he didn't actually go to prom, even though he never explicitly said) And he probably had to listen to Peter talk about wanting to go to prom. With a girl. And then actually go to prom. With a girl.
(And maybe Jared went over to Peter's house before Peter left for prom, because Peter was freaking out and couldn't choose a tie and wasn't sure if he should match his cummerbund to the corsage or not. Maybe Jared had to lie about how he was totally excited for his own prom. Maybe he jokingly told Peter that he looked handsome, but really really meant it.
Even though I'm sure the writers so don't mean to make as tragic of a back story as I'm making it. Still...
Jared had to watch his chubby best (only? I mean, we've met Peter's friend, and mutual friends of their like the bounty hunter last season... but I don't think we know of anyone else Jared was close to? like a Jared specific friend? do we?) childhood friend get tall and thin and join the football team and go to prom with girls. While he got picked on by the band geeks (and also Peter's friend Danny) and had a Quantum Leap backpack and stuffed corn in his principal's gas tank instead of going to prom.
Nerdy, short, teenage Jared who's at a stuck up rich kids high school without his best friend. Who probably asked Leonard if he could go to school with Peter. Who would have been an outcast there too, but at least he would have been with Peter. Peter who promised that they'd stay friends. And still came over lots. But who was one person when he was with his other friends and another person when it was just him and Jared. Because Peter thinks that there's a certain way that things go. And it's football and prom and girls. And Jared is just always who Jared is.
So tragic.)
*coughs* Anyway.
They pretended that they were a couple! !!! A coupe with a kid! !!! A kid with a terrible, unthought out name. They need to learn to plan ahead. Jared's hand on Peter's shoulder. A hand that Peter only wanted off when the girl called them on being lawyers instead. And the girl thought that they made a cute couple. And Peter agreed and Jared thought that they could be co parents, even if Peter was too over protective. Domestic kid fic here we come.
Jared again being jealous of Peter and a girl. Even if he did fix it so that they could dance together. And Jared solo dancing.
Peter's double misfortunes on the dace floor. Jared loving finally finding about the high school one and also being like 'dude, really.' when half of it happens again in court. Jared's little 'ew' when Peter said he was wearing white pants the first time. (which, okay, kinda totally blows a hole in my theory of Jared helping Peter dress for the prom, but it still could have been just a reminder type thing)
Jared not connecting Woodrow and Bernstein with Deep Throat. They've kind of upped the 'Jared doesn't know stuff' stuff lately... like before we had it where Peter was, like, kinda bad at school and stuff, so I don't know if they're just trying to even it out of what.

It took me 6 minutes to realized the kid is Ned, you know, from Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, he like freaking Clark Kent with those glasses!
Ohh, pretending to be married with kids!! Why was it so short lived? They should do that for an entire episode. And Peter admiting they would be a good couple and great dads <3<3<3<3<3<3<3
