I feel like I'm projecting too, in the ways I liked it, I can see how it would have been much nicer, and to me just as reasonable, to have out and out OH MY GOD BROKEN SADNESS.
Yes. It's like they also don't want to give us wonderfully broken sadness because they're horrible, horrible people who don't know what their audience wants.
(yes. that bit was lovely. his eyes totally said that. and then Jared's face said 'you better fuck me against that wall because I'm sad. I'm pretty sure our client won't mind.')
