The inside of Jared's waistcoat, it was turquoise.
Peter had bare feet.
They're not life partners except they are but they're not.
I LOVE EVERYTHING.

They just keep making BEAUTIFUL episodes of BEAUTIFUL.

I love doctor lee, I'm really attached to him from season one because even though his entire plot in that was pointless or cut out or something, I like the way he held Jared's head. And I like how Peter wanted him to be real and then was disappointed that he wasn't, but then he sort of might have been? I don't know. The whole Pindar storyline this season has been quite dull to me more than anything else.

I love that Beverley Crusher came back to judge again.

I love that Damien was sad they were going to defend someone who had hurt Pindar and made him sad.

I sort of loved the level of daddy issues, I love that they have a beach house, THANK YOU FOR A CANONICAL BEACH HOUSE, and Jared finding those presents all unused and just OH GOD HIS FACE HIS PERFECT FACE, Peter would have looked after him so hard. And Peter loves him and Peter finding it awkward when Jared storms away from fights with his dad and he has to say goodbye to him awkwardly, which will have been so much more awkward when they were thirteen. I love when Leonard said he couldn't protect Jared or Peter any more, that was weird but kind of cute how he said both of them, I like the idea that sometimes he had to protect Peter. I still think it's a bit sad that they don't make Peter hate Leonard, but they never really did, we did that for ourselves and I think we're way more valid than they are.

DID I MENTION THE BEAUTIFUL LINING OF JARED'S WAISTCOAT? Oh, I still vaguely disapprove of their having posh clothes, but THE LININGS MAKE ME SO HAPPY, and also the cut of Peter's suit. He's amazing. Everything's amazing.

Peter's going to be Gene Simmons and Jared's going to be the twentieth century fasjkdhfouwegousdhfbsdkjlgjslgjhosudfhkjkwjepfojsfkdh sjh fjkwebfi sudihjgpoj kjehw ;ks df.sdf. I HAVE TOO MUCH LOVE.

There's more but I have to go and die a little now.

The lining of the waistcoat! HOW did I forget that! Clearly we're both distracted by the shiny/turqoise things.

Also, I totally agree about Peter hating Leonard. It just makes so much more sense than him being indifferent and mildly empathetic to Jared. I'd like some more of Leonard's opinion of Peter too, since I'm sure Leonard blames him for most of Jared's 'rebellion'. I'd just like more backstory with the relationship between these three. Or just more backstory in general. *looks pointedly at F&B writers*

I think in canon probably Leonard doesn't blame Peter for Jared's rebellion. Because canon is terrible at giving us REAL BADDIES, and is keeping Leonard quite firmly not as evil as he might be. Peter did go and work for a big law firm pre-series, it was very much Jared who didn't want to. And Peter's sort of the more sensible one of the two, maybe Leonard sees that and only thinks he's as bad as Jared, not worse.

I need the backstory episode more than ALL THE OTHER EPISODES. Except it might be awful. But it might MAKE SENSE AND BE STUNNING.

I have a terrible feeling it will be awful. But I have a hopeful feeling that it might go some way in resolving some of the inconsistancies. Although I still have a bad feeling that it'll just throw up a whole new bunch of questions.

I think that maybe Peter kind of idolized Leonard a bit when they were kids. Like he knew that Leonard and Jared din't have a good relationship, but Peter didn't really get it because from the outside Jared's life must have been pretty neat what with his dad having a jaguar and a having a family beach house and probably being way richer than Peter's family. And that's why Peter wanted to be a lawyer and why he wanted in a a big law firm and why it always sort of kills Jared a little that he does a lot of this for Peter who wants to kind of be like his father. (that last bit may be my fanon angst for Jared kicking in)

Yes! That totally makes sense to me. And it gives Jared all sorts of pretty issues that also make sense to me and to his face.

Yes. The thing I'm still sort of half a bit sort of uneasy about in this season is how with Peter being the one that's hanging back slightly more from being EVIL CORPORATION, because even though it brings up LOTS of beautiful little angst things and also Peter held a dog and looked sad, which was worth a LOT, it would be nice to have Jared being all TORN some more about how Peter was just dragging his life away from him a little bit.

I think Jared doesn't really realize that it's happening to him. Like, he thinks that he's being all broken up and torn about it, but he's really just slipping quietly into this role of hard ass corporate lawyer, and sometimes Peter's sadness makes him extra sad, perhaps, but, because I assume that becoming a hard ass corporate lawyer is just like becoming a zombie, the infection is kind of just changing Jared's brain, and he can't even tell that it's happening to him. Plus, he has a really hard time blaming Peter for anything. Like it just doesn't compute that Peter is the reason that he got infected with hard ass corporate lawyer.

I hadn't thought of Damien's reaction in quite that way but it fits. The guy who plays Pindar has said that he thinks the characters of Pindar and Karp have a sort of affection for each other that neither will probably ever admit. Your idea plays to that well.

I now feel marginally better about Damien getting only one scene.

I can totally see why this episode was hard on you, but I have to say that during that whole scene I was gritting my teeth at the idea that Damien was going to get another role in the b-plot rather than Hanna, so I was kind of relieved that they switched. I know it would be nice if everyone could play every week, but this is what comes of having such a great cast I guess.

And yes, I like that Reed and Kumail both seem to like the Pindar/Karp. <3
