Sad news that we probably knew was maybe coming.

Franklin and Bash has been cancelled.


There's no bright side to this, but through the tears and over the sounds of our hearts shattering, never to be repaired, I think we can try to remember the good times, the lovely characters they probably didn't realize they were creating, the plot points that we predicted and they gave us, and, of course, the undeniable love between Peter and Jared.

And, with canon closed, I'm pretty sure they legally belong to us now.

I think they hoped for the best, but prepared for reality, just in case.

It really was pretty perfect. Like, I feel bad thinking that I'm okay with how it ended (because I don't think I'm ever going to actually be okay with it ending at all), but, like, if it had to be done... I was kind of worried that another season would have lead to something permanent, like a non threesome Jared Ellen wedding or Peter and Jared deciding that they needed to "grow up" and that they didn't need each other any more or something equally horrible... esp if they for sure knew it was going to be their last. This way it's really open and anything is plausible.

Still never going to be over it though.

Yes. We need all the extras. What I really want is, like, a full series dvd boxset with all the extras that they didn't really bother with for any season, because those have to be around somewhere.

I like that one of the possibilities of the ending is to set up perfectly for Peter and Jared falling away from each other the way I pretend Stanton and Leonard did, which is nice and circular and stuff, although obviously Peter would eventually RESCUE Jared from being weighed down by responsibility and teach him to love again. Obviously.

Oh god the lack of dvd extras kills me. As much as they love us and they can't be bothered with just bunging EVERYTHING on a disk for us. Tch.

Yes, yes. It would totally echo Stanton and Leonard's falling out that totally completely happened. And Jared would, like, know that he was making all the same mistakes as his father, like maybe subconsciously, or maybe he makes all these changes and then Stanton's ghost (which probably isn't really his ghost, just Stanton dressed up as a ghost to keep up his cover of being'dead"), comes to him and tells him the sad story of him and Leonard, but Jared can't do anything about because it "for the best" or some nonsense and then, yes, Peter comes back and saves him and is all like 'screw this' and, like, makes out with him in court, which everyone thinks is a classic Franklin and Bash move, but it's actually love.

Obviously.

I don't understand how they don't want us to have all the lovely extras that must exist.
