Sad news that we probably knew was maybe coming.

Franklin and Bash has been cancelled.

There's no bright side to this, but through the tears and over the sounds of our hearts shattering, never to be repaired, I think we can try to remember the good times, the lovely characters they probably didn't realize they were creating, the plot points that we predicted and they gave us, and, of course, the undeniable love between Peter and Jared.

And, with canon closed, I'm pretty sure they legally belong to us now.

Ugh I am totally trying to be a grown up about it and I just want to collapse in a puddle of sadness and hate everything. They left it just late enough to cancel that I started to think maybe they were going to ignore ALL THE NUMBERS and keep it anyway.

But also I want to say how much I love this fandom and all the people in it; I loved the show to bits but you all made it even better. There mightn't have been many of us, but still.

And hopefully Breckin and MP will quickly start making films together now, or another series, or a spinoff, or just film us new episodes while they're on the golf course or holidaying in Hawaii or whatever. They're not to stop being in love just because TNT are idiots.

I just saw Breckin's tweet wow I'm so sad and I haven't even had time to watch the rest of S4 yet :((((((((

Thinking about it, we probably did know it was coming, I think they knew it was coming. Late pick up and late airing, plus what they actually gave us kind of leads to it being the last one.

Season Four was so perfectly for us, the kiss and 'I love you' and everything in between, it was like they were saying thank you and goodbye.

I've noticed quite a few shows are having their final seasons and actually telling us it's their final season, I'm not sure why they didn't do that for this one. Maybe if they had, the numbers might have been better.

I shall be very sad about it for a long time.

They better give us some spectacular extras on the S4 DVDs...

I'm still in denial, kinda. I need all the bear hugs.
We should write more episodes, not fanfics, scripts, and send them to Breckin and the TNT people until they take the hint, I'm telling you, Breckin is our best ally!

I have to agree, despite the unending pain of the show being cancelled, I'm kinda glad we went out on this season with that ending. Because it leaves it open for us. And s4 was the shipping out of all of them and I was afraid that s5 would have tried to sweep that all under the rug and make me sad. Now, like it's been said, they're ours. :)

It sucks because I just got my best friend to start watching with me because we're always looking for more buddy shows after Psych ended (btw, if anyone hasn't seen it, the two main characters of Psych love each other just as much as Peter and Jared do. I got my friend to watch Franklin and Bash by saying it's like Shawn and Gus as lawyers) and now Franklin and Bash is over and there's only four short seasons but man they were great

Maybe Netflix or Amazon can be convinced to pick it up for direct to streaming. They already did that rather than give us DVDs, not such a hard leap to just give us all the episodes that way.

*cough* I'm new to this fandom and I didn't even finish watching the series yet. I just kinda discovered it when i was in dire need of happy and uncomplicated due to all the other series I've watched then being unbearably intense and all. I bought season 1 on a whim and i instantly fell in love with the two and all the bromance plus all the music and movie quotes that's been going on.

And now that i only very recently discovered (on AoOO) that there are awesome fics around with funny plots and precious little drama and that I actually DO like them as a pair, the show is over? Damnit! I had to come here (haven't been on LJ in ages) to check if there are other ppl mourning the loss of the show. I don't want the party to end just yet. Wished i could sit my ass down and write again like in the old days ;-)
