Sad news that we probably knew was maybe coming.

Franklin and Bash has been cancelled.


There's no bright side to this, but through the tears and over the sounds of our hearts shattering, never to be repaired, I think we can try to remember the good times, the lovely characters they probably didn't realize they were creating, the plot points that we predicted and they gave us, and, of course, the undeniable love between Peter and Jared.

And, with canon closed, I'm pretty sure they legally belong to us now.

Yeah, it's definitely not that much of a surprise, not to anyone who kept an eye on the viewing figures. It's still really sad, though. I know breckin's lovely in everything he's in, (as is mpg, although I know most of this fandom is all about the breckin!) but I really like him with MPG and it's so rare nowadays to get characters who love each other as much as Peter and Jared and I don't know if he'll ever be in anything so beautifully slashy again.

It is kind of nice that they won't have to whitewash that perfect hurtful ending for us, a season 5 would have probably started with a few very hasty sentences trying to pretend it never happened. And it's a good season to go out on. I suppose. Even if they never gave us a christmas episode. Or a baby. Or an elephant.

Seeing as we had to have an ending, I'm happy with the one we got.

We were so very spoiled with Jared and Peter, I can't imagine anyone will ever be able to come up with anything like those two ever again. Oh, they'll try, but it'll be forced and horrible and we'll hate it because it won't be Jared and Peter :(

They should have given us a Christmas episode with Jared finding a baby elephant...
