discussion s3 ep 6 Freck

It's that time of week again. ^_^

Once again, no blurb. (Seriously, what's wrong with the press this year? We got nothing but the bloody names of the episodes.)

All the usual spoilers and squeeage below.

Enjoy!

This was kind of a weird case. And it didn't give too much insight into their college(?) friends... or was this a hs buddy? Because Danny came back and knew Freck, and Danny's from hs?

And did Jared and Peter go to the same jr high (8th grade) and then go to a different high school, because Robbie didn't know about Jared and his one dance poem girl.

*shakes fist at their history*

I love that they keep sailing the Jared/Pindar ship. Jardar? Pinred?

I kind of loved Damien this episode. He really wanted to help. And he even got into a Franklin and Bash type defense. Aww.
(I also feel bad for Damien because jail stink!F&B took his old scotch and called him a replicant and made him repeat asking for help. Poor Damien.)

I felt bad for Pindar. No one really believed he saw Freck climb out of the ocean. Sad.

Why no Carmen?

Peter and Jared talking about prison food and where it's best. I dunno... so cute?

I like Charlie. I don't mind her kid. (sweetly blase about everything. and how adorable was Jared when he was pleased that he was taller than Tess.) But I wish they'd be done with her and Peter. It's sweet, it just takes up so much time.

Time that would be better spent showing Jared and Peter taking sunset walks on the beach and confirming that they are, indeed, life partners. *dies*

Not my favourite episode so far this season but still enjoyable. The case was a little meh and their history remains utterly confuddling so I just don't even try any more.

Things I did enjoy though were;

- Peter freaking out that there was blood and Jared being totally awesome and offering to go look in the trunk at potentially a dead body.

- The boys teasing Damien about just about everything and calling him a replicant. I've missed their interactions.

- Pindar being his usual self, searching for health hazards, being protective of his collectables. But seriously, what is up with the one week Carmen, one week Pindar theme we seem to have going? Their scenes together are always great and I miss them :(

- Damien's case and how he genuinely wanted to help. I really think he feels out of place now that Hanna's gone, what with Stanton being on his spiritual trip and Peter and Jared being so wrapped up in their own little world he doesn't really have anybody to talk to that understands him any more. But he came through with a Franklin & Bash-esque move in the end.

- The whole moving/new job thing with Charlie was strange. Usually the women just move away between episodes/seasons but to set it up like this and the recurring theme of marriage/commitment makes me wonder if something will be different this time around.

- Peter totally bailing with Tess. He'd be such a good dad, he should just probably do his research a little better next time. Winnie the Pooh, Peter? Really? And I love that Tess liked Pindar more. He could do with more people interaction, even if they are eight.

Finally, my favouritest thing about the whole episode; Tess asking if Jared was Peter's life partner and NEITHER OF THEM DENYING IT! In fact, not only did they not deny it, they even sort of agreed. And when do these sunset walks happen? I demand to see them, dammit! It's totally unfair to tell us amazingly cute things happen and not show us. *pouts*

I also just wanted to say this feels like it's been the longest week ever. I've been pretty upset over the loss of Cory Monteith and I was really looking forward to the episode since I knew that it would give me the laughs I needed and they delivered. I love this show :)

I need to watch again for quotables, but!

I actually made dolphin noises when Tess asked if they were life parters and no one even batted an eyelid. And that it was 'when we get married' I really want there to be a thing where they need to be married for some reason and they kind of like it and never bother to have it annulled...

Damien's hair was slightly better, but still scary. And I'm glad he got his balls out of the glove box *g* and that he actually wanted to help.

The case was okay, not stellar, but then again they can't all be and I'm resigning myself to the hand wavey about their history now , at least we have fic...

And can we please have Pindar and Carmen in the same episode and in the same scene??? This every other episode thing is really just not on.

Right I'm off for a re watch with a note pad...

"YOU CAN'T HELP FALLING IN LOVE YOU JUST DO."

"YOU GUYS STILL LOVE TOGETHER."

Just thought I'd add that I noticed there's a poster in the beach house for A Clockwork Orange. References make me smile.

The county jail should have a cell just for lawyers in contempt named after Peter and Jared, they spend way to much time in there...

Also, we have a wedding to plan and I do, are they trying to kill us all??

I DM'd Reed Diamond on twitter re my issues with Damien. From his response, I gather they continue this season. Sigh.
