"Big Fish" episode discussion

Okay, I'm not a mod so I hope this okay, but I wanted a place to discuss the sixth episode.

Okay, first I should let you all know that I'm a big slash shipper, esp. Peter/Jared. One thing that was baringly obvious in this episode: Peter and Jared always sit next each other. RIGHT next to each other...even on big couchs.

Oh and someone totally has to write a tag to this episode about all the "hot" talks.

So what did you all think of this episode?

Not only do they sit RIGHT next to each other, but they also did it in perfect sync and crossed their arms in sync too.
<3

Scenes like this just increase my love for the bromance and the romance.

I loved all the teasing at the end! Something along the lines of -->

*Jared's bonus goes to save the children*
Peter: You gave with a /warm/ hand!
Jared: I'll give /you/ a warm hand. I don't even like kids!
Peter: Well they like you! Probably because you're the same size!

Posting a discussion post is totally cool. I'm not here to tell you what you can or cannot post, just to keep things straight.

What I enjoy most about their relationship is that they're not worried about what other people think about them. Jared and Peter seem to be proud of their bromance and embrace it.

I loved the ending of the show, when Jared murmured to Peter, "...I'll give you a warm hand." \O/ Bwahah. Subtext, indeed.

Love this scene. They are so.... together. ^^

This one was on par with the pilot for adorableness, I thought. The 'hot' comments were epic, as were those pouts that Jared keeps giving Peter when he doesn't like something and then Peter immediately (tries to) fix it?
Breckin Meyer's facial expressions? Best thing ever.

Disregard the angry faces and look at how close they're standing.
GOD MY SLASH-GOGGLES ARE ON TOO TIGHT

Slash goggles are meant to worn tightly!! :)

Haha, yeah this episode seemed especially bromance-y. I'm such a dweeb, I get excited when the end is coming up because they always have a little tease at the end. Did you see the previews for next week? I can already see Jared getting all "you hurt my feelings :<" over the case. Muahahah.

In a non-slashy way this episode was a little confusing to me though. Following the evil corporation character's motivation was really unclear until the end. I was like "wait.. he broke into his house to liquidate assets... what?!?!" I guess they did it on purpose, but it was annoying. Happy to see more Pindar though! <3

Honestly, it's like the writers are all "let's give the dirtyminded fanpeople to really squee over." and boom! They wrote that line!
This. (Or else, the writers are dirtyminded fans too)

The writers of the show pretty much PROVIDED the slash goggles for us. Srsly. I love this damn show, they make it so easy. XD

Getting over the fact that Jason Alexander gets on my nerves, I enjoyed watching Franklin and Bash, pulverizing him in the court room, forcing him to pay LOTS of money and go to Haiti. XD

I fell in love with Damien, Hanna and Pindar. And the nickname they have for him, "Pinny". So cute.

fff I know! <3

One Peter/Jared thing that made me smile is their little quarrel at the begin xD
And also at one point when Peter said "Dude, look at me, I'm a walking dessert cart."
And Jared "What are you talkin' about? I'm the cute one."
Their expressions <3

With this episode my love for Pindar and Carmen still increased C: I love to see Pindar "save the day" with her help.
(Also team Hanna-Damien-Pindar is quite impressive)

I agree. The first few episodes, I put Hanna and Damien on the back burner, but now they're growing on me.

[identity profile] bleachedsharpie.livejournal.com 2011-07-09 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
This is my new favorite picture of them. <3
SO CLOOOSE.

They don't just provide them, they put them on for you and tighten until you risk losing circulation.

Man... can't even participate in an episode discussion because it's entirely about the "slash subtext", instead of the actual episode. *sigh* guess I'll be taking my leave of this community or any lj community for this show, since they'll all be filled with slash, as are all shows where a guy/guy friendship is the central part of the story...

[identity profile] bleachedsharpie.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
We do discuss the actual episode, but we're also putting in our two cents on the slash subtext. I fully support both the bromance AND the romance.

On me too, especially Hanna, she's been really cool in the previous episode as well.
I'm curious to see how they will develop their character now.
