Okay, here are some of my collected thoughts/questions about the pilot episode:
- How does anyone concentrate when Breckin Meyer's face is in the room?
- I've watched this episode a million times and never noticed before that Jared goes to the airport at the end in a bronco. I LOVE HIM. I love that he countered with a bronco, and I've been sad that they didn't get one because Peter is still driving something dull. But they totally did. They should take it everywhere.
- Everyone in chat was quite a lot agreed that post-fight hair was BEAUTIFUL and they should take more opportunities to ruffle each other up a bit.
- We were also kind of agreed that selling Jared's ass on sunset is a BEAUTIFUL PLAN. And that fic writers maybe need to get on that. They were SIX MONTHS BEHIND ON RENT THAT ONE TIME. And prostitution fic makes the world go round.
- I love everything about their entire relationship and I know it is sort of all I've said for the past three months, so I'm repeating myself, but whatever. They're just so so so good. So good. I love when Peter brings Jared pizza, and when he goes to find out why he's in trouble in the conference room, and that they fight and don't care, and that they know EVERYTHING about each other, and that they look at each other, and the WALL, THE AMAZING SADNESS OF A WALL OH GOD.
- I'm confused about the canon status of Jared/Hanna. Did they actually definitely have sex at some point? Because Hanna says that thing about how they did, but if you sort of twist EVERYTHING THEY SAY you can make it make sense that they didn't. And I want Jared to be quietly telling the truth while pretending to be lying, when he says he couldn't get it up.
- Blood Sport is totally one of the best films ever made.
- Peter singing makes me incapable of human noise.
- Actually as well as bringing Jared miniature pizza at the airport he brings Carmen hummus at the beginning. Is Peter brining people food when they want it a character trait they kept up with? Because obviously I needed more reasons to love him.
- I wasn't so sure about it when I first saw it, but now I think it's the best pilot episode of anything I've ever seen.
